Each weekday, the on-call physician is available to see urgent care patients in the late afternoon (usually until 6 PM). Depending on patient volume, urgent care appointments will sometimes be booked beyond 6 PM. If you feel your child needs to be seen, please call as early in the day as possible to make sure that your child can have an appointment.
From 5 PM until 8 AM, our telephones are answered by the answering service. There is always a Needham Pediatrics physician on-call to help with urgent or emergent situations that cannot wait until the next day. If you have an urgent or emergent problem and need to speak with the doctor, ask the answering service to page the doctor on call.

On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, no routine appointments are scheduled. However, 365 days a year there is a Needham Pediatrics physician available to see patients with urgent problems that cannot wait until the next regular business day. Urgent care hours generally run from 9:30 AM until around 11:30 AM. Depending on patient volume, urgent care appointments may be booked later in the day. If you feel your child needs to be seen on a weekend or holiday, please call between 8:30 and 11 AM to arrange an appointment. If you reach the answering service, ask the physician or receptionist carrying the beeper to be paged.
If you need urgent advice later in the day, the office will be closed but there is always a Needham Pediatrics physician on-call to talk with you. Ask the answering service to page the physician on call.
