Newborns

If you have just had a newborn baby, congratulations! We will be delighted to welcome the new member of your family as a patient at Needham Pediatrics.

All you need to do is call Needham Pediatrics and arrange a first appointment for your baby. Typically, we see newborn babies two days after discharge from the birth hospital. But if the baby needs to be seen sooner (or later), we will be happy to meet your baby's needs.

If your baby already has a sibling who is a patient at Needham Pediatrics, there is nothing special you need to do before your baby arrives. Once you receive your discharge date from the hospital, simply call our office. We will add your newborn to your family account and schedule their first appointment. If this is your first baby, congratulations! Please call our office and ask for Lisa. She will pre-register your baby (listed as Baby Girl or Baby Boy with your last name) and gather the necessary information before delivery. Once your little one arrives and you receive your discharge date from the hospital, give us a call. We will update your baby's information, including their name, and schedule their first appointment, typically within two days of coming home from the hospital.

If you wish, you may arrange a prenatal consultation with us before the baby is born. Prenatal visits are simply a way for you to learn more about our practice. They are not required, and we will be happy to have your baby join our practice even if you have not had a prenatal visit.
